Gorgeous Glow Inside Out: Simple DIY Skin Detoxification

Your skin is the largest part of your body that’s why anybody cannot miss to see it. It protects and covers everything about your body. But what if your skin is troubled– dry, scaly, pored or of an unnatural complexion? When your skin is troubled in the outside, it is saying something about the inside of your body, too. While it doesn’t give instant cure, many people have found relief from serious skin problems by supporting the body to cleanse out toxins or through detoxification. Here are two simple do-it-yourself ways to get you glowing and gorgeous from the inside out.

(1) DIY Detox Body Wrap
This detox body wrap is easy to put together and is equipped with ingredients that efficiently and effectively rejuvenate the skin. The base of the recipe is in bentonite clay, seaweed, and aloe, which all come together to reveal the most beautiful you!

Bentonite clay is made up of aged volcanic ash with profound healing properties. Bentonite clay has a strong negative charge, which absorbs the positive charge of toxins, heavy metals, impurities and chemicals that are both on and underneath your skin. When mixed with water, the clay swells up like a porous sponge and pulls in toxins by way of an electrical attraction, releasing its minerals for the body to use.

Seaweed is naturally purifying,  through eliminating toxins and balancing your skin’s chemical structure. It is great for treating skin diseases, acne and cellulite. Meanwhile, aloe vera gel offers a moisturizing and cooling effect.

Before administering this DIY detox body wrap treatment, first take a shower and exfoliate the skin. This will help it to absorb the benefits of the wrap more effectively as well as eliminate necessary toxins more efficiently. Spread plastic wrap or a towel on the bottom of an empty tub, which is where you will lie down while the wrap does its work!

Ingredients (Good for 1 treatment)
1/2 cup bentonite clay
1/4 cup powdered seaweed (e.g. kelp)
2 tablespoons sea salt
2 tablespoons warm water
1/2 cup Aloe vera gel
Plastic wrap

Combine all ingredients in a bowl until it resembles a thick paste. Use your hands to coat your entire body with the mixture, including your face.

Once finished, wrap you arms, legs and torso in plastic wrap. The plastic wrap adds a bit of pressure so that the mixture can absorb better into the skin. Do not wrap your face with the plastic wrap.

Lie down in the tub and relax for 30 minutes, or until the clay dries. It may be a little itchy – this is normal. Rinse fully and pat your skin dry. Use a natural body lotion afterwards.

(2) Skin Body Brushing

As we’been told to brush our hair consistently because it brings circulation to the head, the same is true for the body. Yes, skin body brushing is possible. Body brushing is a simple but effective way to get rid of toxins by stimulation circulation and the lymphatic system.

More than a pound of waste products is eliminated through the skin every day. What body brushing does is it aids in this elimination process and makes it more effective.

As you know, we discharge dead cells from our bodies daily so there is more room for new cells. Tons of dead cells flake off naturally, however, some dead cells get stuck to the skin.
